Form and functionality are the traditional view, but recent research shows that

Sustainability is a corporate responsibility and I am very pleased with the commitments
that so many global leading manufacturers are pledging to in regards to removing plastics
from the supply chains, as well as working towards reducing their respective carbon
footprints. We all have a responsibility on a personal level to be conscious of the effect
we have on the planet and to drive that mindset through our purchasing habits.
When it comes to packaging sustainability the hierarchy has to be innovation over
recycling; if there is an alternative technology that removes an unsustainable element,
then that in my mind is cleaner option.
I firmly believe that technology and the buying habits of consumers will drive the
direction that packaging takes. The current trend of personalized and/or interactive
packaging continues to grow but as I mentioned previously consumer conscience towards
sustainability already plays a part and will continue to feature more heavily in the future.
