Since 2003, René is President of the Swiss Pharma Logistics Association pharmalog.ch and from 2006 to 2020, René acts as President and Chairman of the European Healthcare Distribution Association GIRP and President or Board member of several companies and associations.
He is also Chairman of the SMVO – the swiss medicine verification organization.
Since 2001, René is also Member of the Executive Board of REFDATA Foundation.
During 1990-2005, René was Member of the Management of GALENICA S.A and hold various positions within the Galenica Group such as CEO of Vifor Pharma Ltd, General Manager for Central Services Division (1991), Head of the Division Distribution and Services (1996), and until 2004 Head of Market Division.
René holds an MA (lic. rer. pol.) in Economics from the University of Fribourg and an SEP from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
