Synopsis
The brilliant but emotionally guarded Caro Drake arrives at Oxford with the specific goal of earning a doctorate, but as a result of a stormy friendship with a charming young man, she begins to open up about secrets, vulnerability, and love. Based on a true story, this film had its world premiere at the Heartland International Film Festival in Indianapolis, IN, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, to a sold-out audience. Carolyn Weber, author of the book on which the biographical novel is based, was in attendance, along with actor Rose Reid, who played Caro Drake in the film, and other producers.
Carolyn was an agnostic when she first went to Oxford
However, over time she learned that faith and intellect are not contradictory, contradictory, or contradictory. When she experienced a longing for complete familiarity that no human could satisfy, God pursued her just as he had C. S.
Lewis, was a most reluctant convert
Lewis. Because she resisted faith, seeing it as inconvenient and an obstacle to her longing, she, like C. S.
She learned that paradoxes are only apparent contradictions
Like C. S. Lewis, she discovered that real life and God are in paradoxes, as we see throughout the Bible and in the life of Christ.
She discovered that faith and intellect can coexist abundantly
She discovered that God can fulfill her longing to be fully known. This is a good film for those interested in how faith and intellect can be "held in one hand" as Carolyn learned.
